A downloadable game

This was an escape-the-room game made for a course at Purdue University with HTML5,  CSS and JQuery. The game was scoped down to only use one lock instead of 3, but was fully designed and 90% art-complete by the submission deadline. This was the submitted file, but there are still bugs, testing and user experience issues that I would have liked to iron out. What is shown here amounts to roughly the first half of the game. This was made in a group of 4, where I handled all of the back-end logic, the writing and design.

This game was largely inspired by escape the room games, particularly Japanese light horror games like the Crimson Room and 999 - right down to the slow, cryptic dialogue and enthusiastic use of ellipses!

The rest of the game would have involved you putting together finding safe combinations, breaking open closets full of skeletons and reading endless amounts of terrible poetry. (written by myself, unfortunately.)
